The Refit
The refit of SS Delphine began in November 2024 following almost four years of immobilisation in Marseille due to technical issues that could not be resolved by the selected shipyard.
During this period, the vessel was left partially dismantled and in very poor technical condition, eventually losing her Flag, Class and insurance coverage. Basically the whole vessel organisation, safety and compliance to yacht code as well as the technical aspect had to be rebuilt from zero.
The entire refit operation was led and managed by Maxime Berisset and his team at Cobrera Yacht Consulting MC, requiring an extensive technical rebuild of the vessel.
Major works were undertaken on the hull, machinery, original steam propulsion, boilers, piping, electrical and safety systems.
The objective of the owner was to preserve SS Delphine’s unique 1921 heritage while restoring the vessel to modern standards of safety, reliability and compliance.
By mid-July 2026, SS Delphine was once again Classed, Flag compliant, commercially compliant and fully insured, returning to operational status and ready for charter.
